Bonus N Scale Structures NOTES (as of 01/15/09) 1. After plowing through books, prototype photos and other references I came up with some ideas for structures I would like to have available for my layout. Others came from pictures of hand crafted structure models from layouts on the web. A few (as indicated) came from model kit photos from specific manufacturers. The dimensions for these stuctures are close but not necessarily exact. Some structures were duplicated from other "param" files so I could color them. 2. There are four structure files - Generic Industrial (generic industrial structures can be used as desired), Industrial (industry specific structures), Railroad (specific structures used by railroads) and Residential (cabins, homes, hotels, etc.). I may add additional structures to these files in the future, but for the near future what you see is what you get. 2. The 15-stall roundhouse is set up for 10 degree spread for stalls/tracks. Once your turntable has been established and the needed tracks drawn, you need to position the roundhouse manually so that it fits over the tracks in the proper alignment. 3. Track alignment is on the bottom side of all structures except for the following: a) Industrial E, Industrial F, Cannery and Cement Plant have structure extensions at the bottom where the siding track goes through; b) Lumber Company, Machine Works, Warehouse and Wharf Warehouse allow the siding track to enter from the left or right center of the structure; c) Packing Plant and the Stockyard have the siding tracks along their upper side; and d) Car Shop allows the tracks to enter from the bottom side of the structure. By the way, the red lines on this structure are used to align the three tracks entering this facility. 4. I have included "Bonus N Scale Structure Chart" in both Excel 97/2003 format and Unicode text format. This chart lists the structures, file location, length, depth and special notes. Please feel free to use these structures as you wish. If you need to contact me relative to this project you can do so at sgtmac5660@att.net.
